Herbert Hoover Presenting Medal to Amelia Earhart

In this photograph, President Herbert Hoover presents the gold Medal of the National Geographic Society to Amelia Earhart on June 21, 1932. Amelia Earhart was honored for being the first woman to complete a solo flight across the Atlantic.
